New multi field sports installation features Act Global Xtreme Turf
The Woodlands, Texas community will soon have six high-quality synthetic turf sports fields, featuring Xtreme Turf from Act Global! The fields are being built and installed by ARCHCO Superior and McAnany Construction. The two fields at Bear Branch Complex have already been completed, and are being enjoyed by community members and athletes. Four more are being installed between Bear Branch and Alden Bridge Park. The fields are perfect for sports tournaments and community use.
Austin, Texas USA (January 8, 2013) — Act Global Sports continues to promote superior synthetic turf sports surfaces throughout the world, most recently achieving two FIFA certified installations in Colombia.
The fields are a result of quality manufacturing of Act Global and skilled installation work of Colombian partner Pedro Sarmiento and his team. The pitches were installed at the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín and at Sede Recreacional Florida Blanca in Bucaramanga. The fields received a two and one star certification, respectively. Both feature Act Global’s Xtreme Turf for community and professional sports use.
“We are honored to work with a trusted and talented partner that can help bring these FIFA certified fields to Colombia,” said John Baize, managing director of Act Global Sports. “We truly value the work of Pedro and his team, as more players can enjoy the long-term value of quality products and professional installations.”
The field at Universidad de Antioquia is part of one of the biggest and most important universities in Colombia. It will host local league competition matches and the university’s regional tournament, as well as training grounds for professional teams. The field is part of a larger sports facility investment by the university, which will include basketball, handball, futsal, volleyball, martial arts, gymnastics and more. Act Global’s partner will install all these surfaces, making it one of the most complete sport references in Colombia featuring the Xtreme Turf FIFA certified field.
Sede Recreacional Florida Blanca is part of the social services recreational and sport complex of Santander State. The field was funded by Comfenalco Santander, a retirement plan administrator in Colombia, to stimulate sport activities amongst its members. The field will be used by members and several amateur clubs, as well as for hosting local league matches. This complex is one of only two complexes of this kind to have a full size artificial turf field. The new pitch replaces an old natural grass, and is beside a previously installed Xtreme Turf field.
FIFA testing on both fields was performed by Labosport, and results showed excellent permeability, shock absorption and stability. As a FIFA Preferred Producer for Football Turf, Act Global’s products are engineered to meet the highest quality and performance standards. The company’s Xtreme Turf has been installed in many top-performing professional stadiums around the world.

International firm completes Vietnam’s first FIFA two-star installation and hosts FIFA educational seminar
ACT Global Sports recently completed the first and only FIFA two-star installation in Vietnam at Lam Dong Teachers College Stadium in Dalat City. The new football turf replaced natural grass, and is used for top-level Vietnam League One football (soccer) matches.
ACT Global’s Xtreme Turf consists of a tufted fiber on a reinforced triple backing. As a FIFA Preferred Producer for Football Turf, their artificial turf products are scientifically tested and engineered to meet the highest quality and performance FIFA standards. ACT Global’s Xtreme Turf has been installed in many top-performing professional stadiums around the world.
The field was professionally installed by Hoang Nguyen Trading and Construction Company Ltd in partnership with ACT Global. Project scope included a full design and build, featuring a sub-base with a sub-soil drainage system and sturdy, suitable roof design. Maintenance training and equipment was also provided as part of the project
Prior to the new field design and synthetic turf, games often were cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather, and the stadium was not getting enough playing time. Daniel Clapham, regional sales manager, said he has since received positive feedback regarding the quality of the turf, reduced maintenance and increased revenue from field rental.
“ACT Global is proud to be part of such a successful and professionally executed project in this mountainous region with such high annual rainfall,” said Clapham. “Players and coaches agree that investing in high-quality synthetic turf systems can provide huge performance benefits as well as increased playing hours all year round.”
Clapham said that this is a trend they are noticing around the world, as more emerging markets are turning from price-driven decisions to recognizing the long-term value of quality products, professional installation methods and commitment to field maintenance.
ACT Global also recently hosted a FIFA seminar in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam that was attended by some of the regions foremost experts. FIFA spoke in detail about the developments in the artificial turf industry in recent years and the positive impact this has had on the sport including the multiple benefits of selecting a FIFA Preferred Producer for football turf. Mr. Hy, president of the Vietnamese Football Federation, and Mr. Vien, vice president, both attended and confirmed the benefits of the new Dalat stadium, as well as the commitment of the Federation to the FIFA Quality Concept.

ACT Global Sports introduces the latest innovation in the synthetic turf industry
ACT Global Sports and Dywilan from Poland have signed a strategic alliance for the development and production of a breakthrough woven technology for football synthetic turf systems. The Xtreme Turf WX50 revolutionary system consists of Xtreme grass fibers locked into a woven backing system. The manufacturing method is unique to all of the previous generations of synthetic grass. One of the key features of Xtreme Turf WX50 is the resiliency of the pile. The fibers stand up straight before any infill is installed. The woven technique also creates a consistently superior ball roll characteristic in all directions due to the distinctive construction.
“The locking in of the pile in the basic triple W formation is tremendous. We are extremely excited to introduce this breakthrough technology to the world of synthetic sports turf after years of development,” proclaims Wil Ditzel, Director of ACT Global Sports.
The woven technology of Xtreme Turf WX50 offers high water permeability which results in more playing hours during harsh weather seasons. The product is more environmentally friendly due to the recyclable homogeneous materials used in the system. With the growing concern for synthetic turf manufacturers to be “green” and environmentally safe, Xtreme Turf WX50 is taking a significant step in the right direction
